Our Process
WHY DO I NEED AN INTERIOR DESIGNER?
You may know what you want but aren’t sure how to pull it all together. A professional interior designer will guide you through the design process with a well-thought-out plan to help you focus and avoid expensive errors — introducing you to new ideas, products, and solutions for your home. A professional design firm, Robbie Interiors, will help you avoid costly, commonly made mistakes. We will prepare floor plans to ensure your furnishings are the correct size and scale for your home and work to properly place artwork, area rugs, and accessories – using our design savvy to ensure key architectural features of your home are showcased. Ultimately, Robbie Interiors is your interior design advocate. We will work closely with you throughout the entire design process so you can feel comfortable with your decisions; the goal? To make sure your home is not only beautiful but functional. By working with Robbie Interiors, you can be confident that your finished project will meet your budgetary considerations — and simultaneously reflect your distinct personal style and needs. HOW DOES THE INTERIOR DESIGN AND REMODELING PROCESS WORK? When developing your team for a remodel or new construction, it is essential to bring in an interior designer at the initial planning stages to ensure your practical and aesthetic needs are met. Over our 28 years in the business, Robbie Interiors has developed a step-by-step plan to turn your house into a home properly: INITIAL MEETING First, we will meet at your home or job site to review the details, goals, and budget. Blueprints are helpful, as well as magazine photos depicting rooms and styles you like. LETTER OF AGREEMENT AND DESIGN FEES Based on the initial meeting, we will prepare a detailed Letter of Agreement that outlines the scope of services to be performed. A preliminary Design Fee is requested before proceeding with your project. SECOND MEETING After the Letter of Agreement is accepted, a follow-up consultation takes place in your home to obtain detailed measurements and evaluate existing conditions and furnishings. If you have blueprints of your home, we will need a copy of them at this time. Questions regarding your needs, space utilization, and budget, are also discussed in further detail. DESIGN PHASE Based on prior meetings, a preliminary conceptual design scheme is presented. Various interior design elements may be presented, such as floor plans, photos, sketches, furnishing ideas, and fabrics, as well as samples of finishes, flooring, countertops, cabinetry, wall and window treatments, lighting, and hardware to help you visualize your design plan. We also explore the space's function and purpose to ensure we maximize its potential. Over several meetings, specific design details are discussed in greater depth. PURCHASE AGREEMENT Once the design concept has been accepted and approved, a purchase agreement is prepared. At this time, a deposit is required to place the order with the manufacturers. Robbie Interiors will follow up on all orders and coordinate/oversee all installations. |
