Modern Masterpiece

I took a trip to Palm Springs during Modernism Week and the highlight of my trip was touring the Christopher Kennedy Compound Show House.

Surrounded by the scenic and serene San Jacinto Mountains, this location perfectly illustrates the glamorous and modern Southern California life style. The astonishingly talented designers from around the world culminated their vast talents and created an incredibly picturesque and delightful experience.

The powder bath above, by Atlanta Designer Michel Boyd, is the ultimate in artistic sophistication. This is a favorite of mine with an overall serene feeling and a bit of a surreal undertone. This powder room is the ultimate master piece. When you walk in you feel like you are walking into an impressionist painting.

As soon as you enter the living room, you start to take in the beauty and balance of all of the sculptural forms creating this incredible living room by renowned designer Michael Berman. In the masterfully designed living room, Micheal has included items from his own product line by Kravet.  Michael also has an impressive slate of products by Walker Zanger, Brown Jordan and Rohl.

As you enter you are visually whisked away to the captivating golf course view. Once you digest this sublime scene and come back to earth, you are delighted by the majestic feel of the elements in the entry which create a perfectly welcoming and modern foyer, designed by Colin Blanchard and Kenneth McRobbie, proprietors of 31 Westgate located in Halifax Canada.

Right off the entry you will find this beautifully designed little spot.

Leave it to Martin Lawrence Bullard to create a glamorous, elegant and sophisticated environment which tantalizes the senses. The lush pallet of emerald and fuchsia juxtaposed the black and white create an environment fit for royalty. This must be my favorite color scheme of all times.

Modern beauty and balance best describe this enchanting space by Michael Berman Limited.

I was so excited to be able to rendezvous with a good friend Jeanne Chung, Los Angeles area Interior Designer, Founder and editor of the Cozy-Stylish-Chic blog.

This sleek and spacious Kitchen is designed by the master mind Christopher Kennedy himself.  The Eggersmann cabinetry is distinguished by unique stone fronts and exotic veneers along with technological feats in cabinetry compositions and ergonomics.   An incredible focal point in Christopher’s space is the inventive use of an interesting variety of Tech Lighting pendent lights creating a modern floating glass sculpture.

The sleek and stylish counter tops are available through Cosentino.

Christopher also designed the Pure Leaf Tea House located in the perfect spot close to the pool with the spectacular San Jacinto Mountains in the background.

Kelly Ellis is one of my all time favorite people and multifaceted design talents. Here Kelly has created the ultimate design encompassing the concept of bringing the outdoors in. This vanity design by Kelly is a super inventive design solution. The extra thick counter top by Consentino is one of my favs here.

The amazingly talented Denise McGaha created this incredibly functional and aesthetically pleasing laundry room. The color pallet is sublime, pivoting from the Pratt and Lambert Whirlpool Blue Cabinets.  Denise incorporates an extremely creative way to store your laundry detergent in glass jars. So stylish and brilliant!

This space, by style expert and writer Kelly Lee, is an absolute show stopper. With it’s fun flamingo feel, highlights include wall paper by Justina Blakeney for Hygge & West in bubble gum and emerald hues and the vanity desk by Kate Spade New York along with benches and mirror by Lamps Plus.
