I took a trip to Palm Springs during Modernism Week and the highlight of my trip was touring the Christopher Kennedy Compound Show House.
Surrounded by the scenic and serene San Jacinto Mountains, this location perfectly illustrates the glamorous and modern Southern California life style. The astonishingly talented designers from around the world culminated their vast talents and created an incredibly picturesque and delightful experience.
POWDER ROOM
The powder bath above, by Atlanta Designer Michel Boyd, is the ultimate in artistic sophistication. This is a favorite of mine with an overall serene feeling and a bit of a surreal undertone. This powder room is the ultimate master piece. When you walk in you feel like you are walking into an impressionist painting.
LIVING ROOM
As soon as you enter the living room, you start to take in the beauty and balance of all of the sculptural forms creating this incredible living room by renowned designer Michael Berman. In the masterfully designed living room, Micheal has included items from his own product line by Kravet. Michael also has an impressive slate of products by Walker Zanger, Brown Jordan and Rohl.
ENTRY
As you enter you are visually whisked away to the captivating golf course view. Once you digest this sublime scene and come back to earth, you are delighted by the majestic feel of the elements in the entry which create a perfectly welcoming and modern foyer, designed by Colin Blanchard and Kenneth McRobbie, proprietors of 31 Westgate located in Halifax Canada.
ENTRY
Right off the entry you will find this beautifully designed little spot.
DINING ROOM
Leave it to Martin Lawrence Bullard to create a glamorous, elegant and sophisticated environment which tantalizes the senses. The lush pallet of emerald and fuchsia juxtaposed the black and white create an environment fit for royalty. This must be my favorite color scheme of all times.
