For a current design project, I recently traveled to Chicago which happens to be one of my favorite cities. I will share more about my Chicago client and the Chicago Merchandise Mart in a future post soon, but until then here are visual highlights from my trip.

My favorite vignette at Room and Board

The deep marine blue and ivory scheme is quite sophisticated along with the striking black and white photography grouping.

Ladies lavatory in the Chicago Bloomingdales Home Store.

I was intrigued by the beautiful stain glass windows and did some research to learn more.

Bloomingdales Home Store, on Ontario Street at Wabash Avenue.

The structure was built in 1912 as the Medinah Temple. The Medinah Temple was an auditorium, until the Bloomingdales store opened in 2003.

Chicago Architecture Tour

The Wrigley Building a major Chicago landmark. William Wrigley Jr’s chewing gum company holds its headquarters in this beautiful white building designed in an Americanized version of French Renaissance style.

The Art Institute of Chicago

Here we took in the Impressionist and Picasso exhibit. Both amazing!

I visited the Navy Pier and the Children Museum with my husband and son.

The Bean

Favorite of locals and tourist alike, Anish Kapoor’s huge reflective sculpture “Cloud Gate” nicknamed the “Bean”
